Process

This collaboration made it especially important to craft a visual language that felt cohesive, intentional, and culturally resonant, while still honouring Pantone’s precision in colour storytelling. The goal was to create a unified experience where the festival’s identity remained unmistakably its own, yet enriched by the strengths and signatures of each collaborator involved.

Along with a wonderful team, I was responsible for designing the visual identity across digital and physical touchpoints, like:

  • Event website UI/UX

  • Social media creatives and assets

  • Merchandise design for Pantone goodie bags

  • Volunteer t-shirts and print collaterals

Bombay Sweet Shop helped bring our design vision to life with their Pantone-inspired treats, perfectly matching the energy of our visuals. Their sweets became a playful extension of the identity and added a fun, colourful layer to the experience.

It was inspiring to connect with so many voices from the community, exchange ideas, and hear stories that spanned disciplines and geographies. A highlight of the day was meeting the President of Pantone, Elley Cheung and discussing colour with her :)

Conclusion

Working on the MDX × Pantone project was genuinely a joy. It brought together colour, people, and design in a way that felt fun, collaborative, and full of energy. Seeing the identity come alive across the website, social media, merch, and on-ground elements made the whole experience feel real and incredibly rewarding. Most of all, it was a reminder of why I love doing this, creating visuals that bring people together.
